Design and Analysis of a Doubly Salient Wound Field Starter Generator for Cost-Effective Automobile Application

چکیده
Doubly salient wound field machines exhibit the advantages of robust structure and controllable flux, hence have been utilized as generators in applications automobiles renewable energy. However, inherent unbalanced phase back-electromotive force (EMF) waveform caused by asymmetric flux path brings difficulties for precise control smooth operation. To solve problem back-EMF conventional doubly machines, this paper presents a novel machine with balanced symmetrical starter generator automobile application. The are inherited, while magnetless feature makes it promising cost-sensitive applications. proposed can be operated an assistant motor torque boosting at start-up stage, well power recycling battery charging steady state. It is revealed that exhibits similar cost, comparable density, improved ripple, higher efficiency than switched reluctance machine.
